Thank you |
Looking at the picture, I was reminded of a story you once told me.. about a young woman who moved from a sleepy town to the city, to find her bearings. Upon setting foot, she saw with pure admiration, the inhabitants there... the Cosmopolitan Girls. They were strong, independent, carefree women. Cliched words they were but each of them rang true. They exuded an aura of passion, of persuasion, of near invulnerability.
The young woman decided there and then to change... to hatch out of her cocoon and one day become a butterfly. But she did not know where to start, and it took her longer than expected. This frustrated her but in no way discouraged her. Until one fine day, without realising it, she looked into the mirror and eventually saw... that she had become the Cosmopolitan Girl herself.
Ethereal. Captivating. Mystifying. A thing of sheer beauty. The butterfly has emerged.
See the boy on the bike? He is the physical representation of every guy who did not care to give Cosmopolitan Girl a second look in the past, but today... with a sharp, stark. piercing realisation... grimly wished they did. He is dressed plainly, likely because he did not want to be noticed, likely because... he is ashamed.
The Cosmopolitan Girl looked back at the sands, at the footprints she left behind, aware of where she came from and who she is today... my, how she has grown.
I know it must have took you a lot of effort to write all this in my birthday card, and here I am showing off to the world how much I appreciate it. There is no way to describe how wonderful it felt to go to sleep reading your beautiful message. It was even more wonderful knowing that the message was about me. Thank you, not just for the words but for your friendship. May God bless you for the times we spent together. I have no idea where will our friendship lead us, but know that I am grateful that you've been so understanding so far. Thank you again for a wonderful ending for my birthday, and for being who you are.
How often does wonderful things like this happens in a girl's life?! I've truly been blessed, and to all those who thought less of me, take that! Haha.. OKlah, I'm kidding.. I'm too nice to care what others think. |
